Senate Bill 1078 will be considered by the Senate Local Government Committee on Monday morning.

We need to encourage Committee members to support this bill so it can advance to the full Senate for a vote.

Your help is needed TODAY.  Follow the instructions below to send your message of support to Committee members and the bill’s sponsor.

1) Paste the following message into the body of your e-mail template:

Dear Senators,

I am writing to encourage your support for SB 1078, which your Committee will consider on Monday morning.

This common sense legislation requires that data centers:

  • “shall only be approved where they will have a minimal impact on historic, agricultural, and cultural resources and will not be within one mile of a national park or state park or other historically significant site, as designated by the Department of Historic Resources.  Prior to any such approval, a site assessment shall be performed to examine the effect of the data center on water usage and carbon emissions as well as any impacts on agricultural resources.”

Responsible data center siting is essential if we are to live in harmony with these necessary industrial facilities.  Citizens throughout the Commonwealth require the reasonable precautions this bill prescribes to ensure that growth of this industry is managed in a prudent manner which protects our natural and historic assets.

Thank you.

IT'S ABOUT ELECTING PEOPLE WHO WILL REPRESENT US

It's time to have people in office you will do what is best for the citizens they represent.

It's time to have people in office who will listen to the citizens they represent.

It's time to have people in office who are knowledgeable on the issues they are voting on.

When it comes time to choose who will run your local government vote for your own best self interest. Chose based on who is running not which party they are from. It's time to Vote for People Over Party.

The Recall efforts have brought together an incredibly diverse group of citizens in Prince William County. From different backgrounds, religions political persuasion, ethnicities. This is what makes us so powerful.

Prince William County is becoming the poster child for what a community can do to protect its children, the environment, it's history, it's quality of life. We're working for the entire community because everyone in the county rich and poor, young and old will be adversely impacted by what our current board of supervisors is doing.

One way of stopping the destruction is to Recall Ann Wheeler. It's a legal action. We need people who are registered voters in Prince William County to sign our Recall Ann Wheeler Petition.

Here's where we will be collecting this weekend.
